Kamlesh Kadam Shiv Sena’s shakha Cheif has been arrested with five other people in connection with attack on a retired Navy officer.
An FIR had been registered in Samta Nagar Police Station, Mumbai against Kadam and his 8-10 associates for assaulting a former Navy officer.
A 62-year-old retired Navy officer has forwarded a cartoon of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on WhatsApp on Friday after which he was beaten up by alleged Shiv Sena workers.
‘A government like this should not exist’
Madan Sharma told PTI that he was attacked by 8 to 10 people after he received threatening calls for a message that he had forwarded.
“I have worked for the nation my entire life. A government like this should not exist,” said Sharma.
The daughter of the retired officer also rebuked the Mumbai Police, saying the cops insisted on taking her father with them.
Sharma suffered an eye injury and admitted in the hospital.
In response to the incident, BJP and opposition leader in Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis expressed their disagreement and appealed to the state’s Chief Minister to take action against the people responsible for the same.

“An extremely sad and shocking incident. A retired naval officer got beaten up by goons because of just a Whatsapp forward. Please stop this GundaRaj Hon Uddhav Thackeray ji. We demand strong action and punishment to these goons,” Fadnavis tweeted, along with a picture of the officer.
Madan Sharma was attacked in Lokhandwala Complex area in suburban Kandivali.
Kamlesh Kadam called the ex-Navy official and asked him to come down from his building. As soon Sharma came down from his building around eight people have beaten him together for allegedly forwarding a cartoon of Thackeray on WhatsApp.
