Suresh Chavhanke is the chairman, managing director and editor-in-chief of Sudarshan news. He also hosts the show Bindas Bol in his news channel. Suresh Chavhanke claims to be a member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. As a member of RSS, he had worked as a reporter in Tarun Bharat. He grasps several posts in RSS before becoming a full-time reporter. He launched Sudarshan News channel in 2005 in Pune and later shifted his base to Noida
Suresh Chavhanke is one of the most controversial media personnel in the country.
In November 2016 an FIR was lodged against Suresh Chavhanke for allegedly raping a former employee of his channel. He was booked by Police under IPC section 11 however the charges were not substantiated as per the closure report filed by the Police in January 2017. In April 2017, Chavhanke was booked once again and arrested for inciting communal hatred between two communities. He was booked under multiple IPC sections and section 16 of the Cable Television Network (Regulation) Act, 1955. In 2018, he started a rally called ‘Bharat Bachav’ through which he wanted to give a message on population control. The rally was interrupted by Hyderabad Police due to law and order problems created by the event. Recently he is again in news as he released a trailer for a news show with a controversial remark on muslim candidates cleared IAS and IPS exams. He stated “How has the number of Muslim IPS [Indian Police Service] and IAS [Indian Administrative Service] officers increased recently?” he asked viewers. “What will happen if ‘Jamia ke jihadi’ rise to positions of authority in the country?” For which the Supreme Court has stayed the Sudarshan News channel and it’s Editor-in-Chief from telecasting a show on the “infiltration of Muslims” in the Civil Services.
Sudarshan News got a Show-cause notice for allegedly instigating violence during Muzaffarnagar riots
In 2013, complaints were filed that the channel was instigating violence during the Muzzafarnagar riots . The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting sent a show-cause notice to Sudarshan News.
A senior official in the ministry said, “We are monitoring the content aired by Sudarshan TV and we believe the channel is in violation of policies, as some of the content is believed to have instigated the violence. We have given them a show cause notice as we believe they should be given a chance to give their view. So far, we have only received complaints about Sudarshan TV and none of the other broadcasters.”

Sudarshan news proclaimed a photograph of a differently abled man and stated that a Rohingya criminal dragged by the police.
It has been reported later on that the differently-abled man in the photograph was an activist and a member of Bangladesh’s Gonojagoron Mancha. The photograph has been taken in 2014 when their organisation’s protests took place.

On May, 2014 Sudarshan News reported that Shahrukh Khan said that if Narendra Modi come into the power, he will leave the country. For which Mr. Khan replied “Good time to tell all fools who r talking of a tweet that I didn’t tweet, u suck as much as the grammar of that fake tweet & I’m being kind.”
In July 208 Sudarshan News had published a report which stated that a mosque in Uttar Pradesh has passed a decree against UP Police and claimed that they threaten UP police to cut them out in pieces. However, the report came out as a fake propaganda to spread hatred against Muslim community.
On December, 3, 2018 a police officer was killed in a clash between alleged illegal cow slaughter and police in Bulandshahar district of UP. Chavhanke tweeted that the violence in which cop was killed was backed by Ijtema. Replying to Chavhanke’s tweet Bulandshahr police informed via Twitter that the violence which took place in the town was not related to the Ijtema gathering, They also made an appeal to not spread wrong information.
On November 27, 2018, Chavhanke tweeted that India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru called himself a ‘Hindu by accident’, which is a false information spreaded all over the social media by then. Nehru never call himself a ‘Hindu by accident’ the fact is a Hindu Mahasabha leader B R Nanda wrote a book with a title ‘The Nehrus: Motilal and Jawaharlal’. In his book he described Nehru as ‘English by education, Muslim by culture and Hindu by an accident of birth.
On September 10, 2020 Suresh Chavhanke has tweeted multiple riots pictures and stated that When police started interrogating Rohingya Muslims in Jaipur, a mob of 25000 people attacked on police station and burned.It hinted that they will burn every thing on #DeportRohinga.
However, the pictures that he posted was some from Gujrat riots and some from London riots.
Suresh Chavhanke posted a video in tweeter with a long description where a boy can be seen tearing national flag and said “Main pakka Musalman hoon”. It was later revealed that the boy was a Hindu and posted the video where he claimed himself a Muslim to create a controversy.
In his tweet Suresh Chaavhanke uploaded a video of Asaddudin Owaisi and claimed that AIMIM president was dancing after Kamlesh tiwari got killed. However, later it revealed that this video was shot on October 17, a day before Tiwari was killed in Lucknow on October 18.
